1st Time Visit Questions and Answers
- What special preparations should I make before visiting a nudist park?
Generally none at all, apart from those you would normally make to go anywhere.
- My wife/girlfriend is hesitant. How do I get her to visit with me?
There is no simple answer to this question as obviously different people have different reasons for not wanting to
experience nudism, just as there are different reasons to try social nudism.
The answer is to correct misconceptions in most cases. And with nudism, most
objections can easily be reasons for participating in the lifestyle, when looked
at from the nudist perspective.
The American Association for Nude Recreation has a great brochure
"From a Woman's Perspective" to share with your wife or girlfriend.
Please don't let nudism become a source of conflict. Our ideals are family based,
and family is far more important than being nude at Valley View.
Does your wife/girlfriend have question? Have them visit our women's
page and write Ask Annie
- What if I run into someone I know?
Chances are that they will be just as nude as you.... and quite comfortable with nude recreation (unless it's their
first visit too). They'll likely be glad to see you. Conversation will be easy...
you have something to talk about: a common interest in nude recreation.
- What should I bring?
Bring towels, comfortable footwear, suntan lotion and sunglasses. You
might also want to bring lounge chairs, a hat, something
to read and any sporting equipment you desire. If you plan on
spending the day, bring along a cooler of your favorite beverages and
something to eat.
- What is the cost?
This varies from park to park and generally costs less than
public RV campgrounds. Valley View's Rates
What if I am not use to the sun?
If you need to cool down, a quick dip in Valley View's swimming pool will help, or our club house is a shady and cool place to
relax or just watch TV.
My body is far from perfect.
I'm concerned that people will make fun of me.
It's quite possible that no one has the perfect body. And while some bodies are more beautiful than others,
nudism isn't a beauty contest. Just as in the clothed world, there are all kinds
of bodies in nudism. Body acceptance is at the root of nudism...
you'll learn that while not perfect, your body is as acceptable as
all others when you experience social nudism.
Do I have to undress right
away?
Valley View is a nudist park...
a place where people come to be socially nude. For the comfort of all, we expect
that all members and visitors be nude while in the common recreational areas of
the park. Nudism is a participatory activity, not something to watch.
We believe that the comfort of Valley View would make
participation easy in a short time.
< What
about periods of menstruation?
Menstruation
is looked upon as a normal, healthy function. The wearing
of shorts or the use of tampons enables women to enjoy
most of their nudist activities. It is not a subject of
notice or comment.
Are
there any religious implications involved in nudism?
None
whatever. Nudists represent all major faiths and most of
the lesser ones.
Do men
become visibly embarrassed during their visits to a
nudist resort?
This is a
perennial question. The answer is "No" because
nudist parks are not sexually stimulating. Many men fear
this problem but instances of such embarrassment are
extremely rare. So, while it is unlikely that you will experience
an erection while participating in social nudism, should you experience
such just cover with a towel or conceal it 'til it goes away.
Don't flaunt it!
>If I
visit a nudist park, will I be subject to publicity?
Of course
not, unless you deliberately seek it out. Privacy is
fully respected in nudist parks, and Valley View visitor and
membership roster is never made public. People who are
known as nudists usually announce it themselves. No park
will ever publicize your presence without your explicit
permission.
Do I have to be nude all the time?
While Valley View is a nudist club/campground is not clothing optional, there are certainly times when being clothed is
appropriate (or recommended or at times even required). In general, however,
nudity is the correct state of being at all times when health, weather and
safety allow while in the common and recreational areas of the park.
Nudity is mandatory at all times in the pool.
Is it
likely my wife would be improperly approached at a nudist
park?
Of course
not. If such a thing were to occur, you'd notify the
manager at once. The offending individual would be
ejected and their membership card would be picked up.
May a
married person visit the park without his/her spouse?
This is
permitted. But, family nudism is exactly that, your
first visit to a nudist park should be a shared
experience.
Will my
picture be taken?
Photography
in nudist parks is very closely controlled. Some parks
will not permit it at all. No one is ever photographed at
a sun club without specific permission in each instance. Children may not
be photographed without their consent and that of their
parents. Some parks provide photo corners where you can
take all the pictures you wish of your own family.
Can I
expect any real health benefit from nudism?
Yes, if
you take part in the normal sports activities, which are within your capabilities
and don't overdo them. You will probably also benefit
from the notable air of relaxation at most nudist parks.
People who suffer from business pressures or other
nervous strains normally find nudist living a highly
effective antidote.
